Whole Grain Oat Flour

Obtained by stone grinding oat flakes. The flour obtained from oat flakes is less bitter than the flour obtained from the seeds and also keeps for longer.

From a nutritional viewpoint, oats help to lower bad cholesterol (LDL), increase the basal metabolic rate and the feeling of being full (due to the soluble fibre). They also slow the entry of glucose into circulation, which lowers the glycemic index of the entire meal.

Oat flour has a particularly high tryptophan content (185g for 100g of finished product). Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that is a precursor of serotonin (the neurotransmitter that plays a major role in controlling mood and sleep).
